Local Youth Participation Events
EVENTS OF THE PROJECT
A Youth Participatory Event will take place in Greece, gathering 80 participants over four days. The focus will be on supporting young people to engage safely, critically, and responsibly in a world dominated by social media and digital technologies. The event aims to enhance digital citizenship by developing a toolkit to help young people acquire digital skills and promote digital awareness and media literacy.
Greece will host a Youth Participation Mobility program lasting five days (excluding travel days) to establish Digital Citizenship Youth Clubs. These clubs will focus on essential digital citizenship skills necessary for the digital age, including information interpretation, digital communication, and online safety. The clubs will cover ten key digital domains relevant to today’s digital democratic world, such as access and inclusion, media literacy, ethics, health, and privacy.
Latvia will host a Youth Participation Event, where 45 participants will engage in a debate with decision-makers on fostering active digital citizenship. The aim is to prepare young people across Europe for success in various aspects of life by enhancing their digital and European identity, promoting responsible decision-making, and building key skills through practical digital citizenship principles.
In Spain, a Youth Participation Event will feature a Democratic Youth Forum with 45 participants over four days. The forum will focus on developing digital citizenship and civic engagement through social media. It will examine how young people use ICT for civic engagement and explore the role of civil society organizations in supporting digital civic engagement. The event will also address the current and future use of digital tools for civic participation.
